Videos in the classroom

Using videos in the classroom can be very beneficial in helping students understand and interact with the curriculum. Shows like Sesame Street do a great job getting on the kids level and teaching them about foundational concepts and ideas in a way that make sense to them. Videos like these are also great because concepts that are easy for adults to understand can be difficult to explain in simple terms to students. So, if we do not have to "re-create the wheel," so to speak, why not get some help and show them an entraining and educational video to help them understand. A video that I found and that I think could really help, was made by Sesame Street about matching. (You can watch the video here.) I thought that this video would be helpful to show in a kindergarten classroom, because they discuss what qualifies as matching as well as showing how working together can help find the answers.

Videos can help students in ways that us teaching them cannot. There are many different videos that can help our students that we as teachers just have to go look for. And there are so many resources that want to help. Where I found my video for this blog was Youtube's channel called Teachers. There were so many video to choose from and for all ages that I highly recommend this channel to all who are in the educational field.
